Registration for this course will include access to all USA Rugby Development opportunites outside of this course time.You will gain access to all of the guest speakers and development pieces on Friday night and all day Sunday! Don't miss this opportunity to further your rugby development outside of the Strength & Conditioning Level 1 clinic. 

Included in your registration fees will also be a ticket to the MLR match of the weekend. New England Free Jacks vs. Houston Sabercats 

World Rugby Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Course Presented by USA Rugby

This clinic will be taking place during a USA Rugby Super Education Weekend at The University of Oklahoma. Click here to find more information on this exciting weekend event! 

This Level 1 Strength and Conditioning course is designed to provide beginners with basic knowledge and understanding of strength and conditioning and a foundation of practical skills. The course will expand on the physical conditioning content in the Rugby Ready course.

Within its six modules, the Level 1 course will address eight key topics:

• Long Term Player Development Pathway

• Functional screening

• Anatomical Adaptation

• Demands of the game

• Principles of training

• Speed and intermittent sprint endurance

• Periodization

• Recovery

What do I have to do to complete the Level 1 S&C?

  1. Completed the online World Rugby Level 100 Rugby Ready course (email completed certification to
  2. Complete the online World Rugby Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Pre-Level 1 module (print certificate and bring a copy of the completion certificate to the clinic)
  3. Attend and achieve competencies during the in-person Level 1 Strength and Conditioning course.

Who is best suited to attend the Level 1 S&C?

It is intended for all ages and abilities; participants do not need to have previous experience in Strength & Conditioning. Coaches, referees, and players will find it most directly applicable; however, administrators, parents, and others involved with rugby will also gain a significant amount of knowledge.
